Day 290 - Today was my Dad's 50th birthday!  We surprised him by getting Monkey out of the hospital on a day pass and going to the sugar bush.  Good food, a horse carriage ride and cake!  It was a good day.

House warming

 

Day 205 - We went to a house warming today.  My "little" brother and his girlfriend bought their first house!  It was also both of their birthdays (well within a few days anyways), so we all headed over and celebrated with them.  I brought the punch - everyone loved it.

Day 184 - Merry Xmas!  We had dinner at my parent's place to celebrate.  Turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings.  YUM!  The girls were so cute together all night.  Here's a shot of their hugfest.

Day 178 - We had family over to celebrate Mr. Penguin's 30th birthday!  Two buffet meals in one day...I am so full!!

Day 160 - My girls love each other.  Like REALLY love each other.  They are not truly happy unless they are annoying the crap out of the other.  Tonight before baby went to bed, Monkey gave her giant hugs and she returned the gesture.  My babies are adorable!  <3

I cried today

Day 122 - We're back home for the weekend.  We've been driving around every afternoon, checking out the fall leaves and talking about which neighborhoods we want to live in and what kind of house we want.  We can't move back for a long time as I share custody of my Monkey with her father.  It made me cry today that I can't give my babies the life I want for them or for me.

Sickies...

Day 107 - We're all sick at the Penguin household...HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  :P  I'm outfitted in my sweat pants and sweat shirt, the babies are still in their pj's and Mr. Penguin is still sleeping.  There will be lots of naps and movies for today.

This shot was taken last night of my babies.  Monkey was trying to soothe Baby as we were out past our usual bedtimes.  My girls are too cute together.

Replacement

Day 92 - **EDIT** Mr. Penguin was not happy with the sleeping shot of him online...it will now be going in my personal scrapbook to love for all time.  ;)

Day 86 - Baby and Daddy.  My family (minus Monkey who is at her Dad's house this week).

Sushi

Day 64 - The girls and I met my parents, my Aunt and two cousins at the buffet place in town.  They make excellent sushi.  YUM!

I had sushi tonight in celebration of me booking and paying for my sushi making class!!  I'm so freakin' excited.  It's in November and taught by the owner of a major sushi chain.  And I get to bring home enough for 6 people!

Balloon

Day 61 - On our way back from the airport (the girls and I dropped off Mr. Penguin in the wee hours of the morning) we spotted this.  It's the local hot air balloon which makes two flights a day - sunrise and sunset - although it is in the shape of a special balloon character this morning.  It's advertising the upcoming balloon festival.

It was just over 2 years ago that Mr. Penguin and I took our first flight in that very balloon basket.  Such good memories.

Sleepy Head

Day 59 - My sweet little sleepy head.  Her and I had an eventful time visiting my parents this morning/afternoon.  Tuckered the baby right out.  We then picked up Mr. Penguin (who worked overnight last night in the office), some coffee and went for a long drive in the country.

Day 44 - It's a lazy Saturday at home today. I don't have much going on and it is absolutely WONDERFUL.  

This is a frame that hangs in the upstairs hallway.  It's one of my favorite things in the entire house (I probably say that a lot, but we really do personalize every inch of our home).  This is our family.  Can you see the resemblances?

Birthday cake

Day 37 - Baby turned 1 year old today! Monkey and I made her cake and decorated it with pink icing and sprinkles.

It was a good day filled with balloons, sunshine and love.

Day 17 - Baby penguin and I went over to my parent's place for dinner. I forgot our bathing suits, but that didn't stop baby! Naked except for her hat and loving every moment.

This is Nanny and baby splashing and beating the heat. It was a fun night.

Cousins

Day 9 - Cousins! My nephew was over for the day to visit with my two girls. They had hot dogs for lunch, played in the kiddie pool, had a nap and then we loaded up for dinner and swimming at Nanny & Dampa's house.

A BEAUTIFUL sunny day filled with excitement, children laughing and tons of fun. Perfect.
