Sugar Bush

Day 290 - Today was my Dad's 50th birthday!  We surprised him by getting Monkey out of the hospital on a day pass and going to the sugar bush.  Good food, a horse carriage ride and cake!  It was a good day.

Day 214 - It was chilly, but all of us in the Daycare bundled up and went outside today!  We spent 30 minutes singing some songs and swinging on the porch swing.  Overall lots of fun.

Day 202 - Baby Penguin has 2 new friends to play with all day!  Here she is with one of them watching out the window for buses and big trucks...a favorite pass time.

Secret Santa

 Day 179 - I joined an online forum gift exchange this year.  People from all over the world are exchanging gifts with others they have never met.  Today, I got my Secret Santa gift!  I love it...I wonder why!

Day 137 - I got a present from a co-worker today for no special reason at all.  Isn't it cute? 

Lots of little fairies

Day 79 - Monkey went to a fairy birthday party today.  It was BEYOND cute.  All the girls (age 3-5) got to pick a fairy dress, flower crown, wand and some wings to wear.  Then they got to have their faces painted and play some games.  It was adorable and my little girl got to see some of her daycare friends she hasn't seen since starting school.

Then we had pizza and veggies and some cake and came home for a well deserved nap.  Happy Saturday!

Day 74 - Baby seems to enjoy camping.  She scooted along in the dirt, yelled into the trees and slept through the nights.  I think the trips next year will be more fun for her.  With not yet having the ability to walk and her extreme curiosity, she just couldn't do the things she wanted to do or be in the places she wanted to be in.  But she had fun with her little friend and quite liked napping in the hammock and snuggling by the fire.  Overall the weekend was a success!

Day 73 - We arrived a day late, but we finally arrived!  Camping with friends for the long weekend.  Let the relaxing begin!

Camping prep

Day 65 - With Mr. Penguin still gone and him, me and the baby going camping with friends for the long weekend, I had some prep work to do on my own this weekend.  Well, Monkey helped.  I have only been camping once before with Mr. Penguin - and that wasn't a great experience as I got really sick - so I thought erecting the tent would be challenging.  But I did it all on my own!

PS - Costco sells GREAT camping gear.

Sickiness

Day 57 - I'm sick and my road trip to see my BFF is canceled for tomorrow.  Water and bed.  Goodnight.

Daycare graduation

Day 36 - Monkey had her daycare graduation today. Mr. Penguin and I went to hang out with the other parents (there were 4 kids graduating in the group), have some food and see all the artwork that the kids have been doing.

While taking pictures of my darling girl - that's her on the right - and her friends, I thought it would be funny to get one with them all dressed up and their tongues hanging out. Unfortunately I started something, and no other parent could get a photo without one of the girls sticking out their tongues!!

I'm such a good influence.  ;)

Quick visit

Day 16 - My best friend had a flight home that stopped in my city. Baby and I met her there for a quick lunch and to catch up.
They bonded a bit and she had baby laughing by the time she had to board her plane.

Cousins

Day 9 - Cousins! My nephew was over for the day to visit with my two girls. They had hot dogs for lunch, played in the kiddie pool, had a nap and then we loaded up for dinner and swimming at Nanny & Dampa's house.

A BEAUTIFUL sunny day filled with excitement, children laughing and tons of fun. Perfect.

Day 3 - Today I spent the afternoon with a friend and our babies. We went to the local market and browsed the artist booths and checked out the local produce and baked goods.

On the lunch menu was 'dippity doo wedges' complete with a side of curry dip. So yummy!! What an excellent way to spend a Sunday.
