Day 306 - They arrived a little late, but are just too cute!  A gift from my Aunt to the girls for Easter.  They love them.

Happy Easter!

Day 304 - The girls were excited to run around and find all that the Easter bunny had left for them.  Such a nice day with the family.

Day 303 - You can dress up Baby Penguin for Easter, you just can't get a proper face out of her!  No matter how many times I tried to take a cute Easter pic of my little darling - this is the face I got.  And this, funny enough, is the best shot out of all the ones I took.  At least she's natural!

Day 302 - Today was a stat holiday, so Mr. Penguin was off work.  We took the morning to go see the animals at the Agricultural Museum.  It was great fun!  Sheep, horses, pigs, cows and baby chicks...even honey bees.  Lots of things to see and learn.  We even had a picnic lunch under the tents.  A wonderful way to spend a Friday.

Day 301 - The kiddies and I went to the park after supper tonight.  It's so nice to get out and have some fun with the nicer weather.

Day 300 - It's just me and Baby Penguin tonight.  We decided to live on the wild side and bring our supper down to the family room and watch some TV.

Day 296 - This was in my Dad's 'British basket' he received for his birthday last weekend.  It makes me laugh...I know, I'm so mature.

Last time...

Day 293 - This is the last night (morning) I will have to drive home from the hospital!  My Monkey is coming home on FRIDAY.  So many happy dances for that news, I can't even describe it!!

Day 292 - Another evening at the hospital with my Monkey.  She's getting antsy to get out - just 2 more days!  One of her visitors today brought her a cute koala bear.  She fell asleep with it...

A basket of thanks

Day 291 - With Monkey being in the hospital going on 3 weeks, I figured I'd make a basket of goodies for all the nurses who have been caring for her 24 hours a day.  I think it turned out great!  And Monkey was excited to hand it over and say thank you.

Day 290 - Today was my Dad's 50th birthday!  We surprised him by getting Monkey out of the hospital on a day pass and going to the sugar bush.  Good food, a horse carriage ride and cake!  It was a good day.

Kitty at the vet

Day 243 - The girls and I brought Kitty to the vet to get his shots.  I ambushed him when he was napping and shoved him in a cat crate.  He wasn't too impressed, but was very well behaved once we arrived at the vets.  Good boy!

Day 241 - Kitty has claimed our snow fort as his own personal sun tanning location!

Day 240 - Baby Penguin and I headed over to IKEA this morning to walk around and hang out together.  We stopped in the kids section to test out the toddler beds.  She's going to need one in the next year.  She picked this one as she liked the hearts on the bedding.  I approve!

Day 239 -

Snow fort!

Day 238 - Today the kids and I made a snow fort!  I cleared away a rectangular section of snow, created 'walls' and then plunked the foam play mats down as flooring so that we could sit and play without getting our butts cold.  It was lots of fun!

Bottle for Teddy

Day 237 - Baby Penguin received a gift for Valentine's Day from her friend.  She loves him!  He's almost as big as her and she drags him around and puts him in his own chair.  This morning she decided to share her bottle with him.  Too cute!

Godiva Goodness

Day 235 - I received a rather decadent gift from Mr. Penguin for Valentine's Day...the strawberries were as big as tangerines!  So yummy... Happy Love Day!

Day 234 - My birthday breakfast!  I got breakfast in bed made by my wonderful husband (and I had help eating it from my two beautiful girls).  A great start to the day.

Day 231 - I don't have the water colour crayons that I want to complete this project in yet, but I did start on the rough sketch of Korky.  I think it looks pretty good so far.

Day 230 - This is a picture of a page in one of the girl's books.  The puppy's name is Korky and I want to recreate him for the daycare as a piece of art.  Here's hoping it looks ok!

Blanket forts

 

Day 229 - We made blanket forts today.  Too much fun - and static - was had by all.  I'm not sure who loved it more, me or the kids!

Day 228 - I made cranberry muffins before 8:30am this morning!  Man, I'm on the ball.  This was after vacuuming and steam cleaning the kitchen floor and getting two kids up, dressed and fed.  I feel like Super Mom today!

First Aid/CPR

 

Day 226 - I had a day away from the kids today.  I headed out early for my full day of first aid/CPR training.  It was a long day filled with interesting scenarios...I got to pat down a lady I just met...now THAT'S how you make a new friend!  haha  It was a good day, lots of review and practice and I am now current again in case of an emergency.

Scrapbooking

 

Day 225 - I went with a friend to another lady's house to scrapbook tonight.  I've been seriously slacking in my artistic areas lately.  I completed two pages for my wedding album (bringing the total to three pages - no worries, we've only been married almost a year and a half!).  I love the way this page turned out.  Makes me all warm and fuzzy about our wedding day all over again.  <3

Day 224 - My little model.  We did Baby Penguin's hair in a side ponytail today...she's a cutie!

Day 223 - Kitty is getting pretty cold outside!  We've had weather in the low minus thirties and he's still sleeping on our porch swing.  I have to take him to the vet soon as he seems to have an eye infection and I also want to get his shots done if he's going to be around the girls.  So I bought a crate and some 'blankets' that claimed that cats love them and would keep them warm.  Kitty actually did love it!  He slept on it most of the day.

Day 222 - Baby Penguin put on her own headband today.  She would have it on her forehead and over her ears...and would get very upset if I tried to fix it.  This is as close as it got to being worn behind her ears and taking the hair off of her face.  The face says how impressed she is!

Day 221 - Baby Penguin continues her week of hats.  Today she found Daddy's hat and is proudly showing it off.

Day 219 - Monkey makes me smile.  For all the times she's wild and crazy, there are moments of pure quiet that make my heart melt.  We were sitting on the couch talking about her day, I needed to capture the moment.  <3

Day 218 - A major rule of cuteness: one must wear a hat indoor whenever possible.  The end.

Day 217 - We're crafting in the daycare today and Monkey is loving it!  I took a moment to take a few shots of my precious big girl.

Day 216 - Monkey took a picture of me and Baby Penguin.  She's getting pretty good at it too!  Everyone has a head, we're centered in the shot and no ones blinking.  Good job Monkey!

Day 215 - Nope!  Just Baby Penguin playing in the curtains!  It's one of her favorite things to do.

Day 214 - It was chilly, but all of us in the Daycare bundled up and went outside today!  We spent 30 minutes singing some songs and swinging on the porch swing.  Overall lots of fun.

Day 212 - A new postcard!  This one is from Nederland.  It made me chuckle.  I really like getting mail from all over the world - it's so cool.

Day 209 - Today, my little 18 month old Baby Penguin picked up a lion animal and walked over and put it on the "L" circle on the zoo mat without any prompting from me.  I may have a budding genius on my hands!

Day 208 - The organizing continues.  Last night I found our dresser under a pile of crap, dusted it off and kept only the essentials.  It's so pretty!

Day 207 - Both of the kids I watch are late.  One isn't coming today and the other will be in at 10am.  So Baby and I are organizing the house some more.  Slowly it is getting somewhere!  Today, we worked in Baby's room and finished the donation boxes.  Give what you can't use!

House warming

 

Day 205 - We went to a house warming today.  My "little" brother and his girlfriend bought their first house!  It was also both of their birthdays (well within a few days anyways), so we all headed over and celebrated with them.  I brought the punch - everyone loved it.

Play dough

 

Day 204 - I made homemade play dough today and it smells fantastic.  I added Jello to the mix to get the colours.  So I have grape, lime, lemon and cherry 'flavours'.  It turned out great actually!  I can't wait for the kids to try it out next week.

Story time

 

Day 203 - Story time!  Me and the little ones sat on the floor and read some stories on this chilly winter day...it was great.

Day 202 - Baby Penguin has 2 new friends to play with all day!  Here she is with one of them watching out the window for buses and big trucks...a favorite pass time.
